Hello,, I got a prob! Today i went riding. I went for a long ride. Some HWY! I rode down to the area Dirt Bike Spot where i ride. When i got there i decided not to go down the long dirt and gravel road to get to where we all ride. I turned back and when i got to the exit a park ranger went pass me. I thought nothing of it. Then i looked back and he lit me up and pulled me over. It turns out the braket that holds my plate on has failed and my plate is somewhere in Louisiana getting ran over by lots of cars. Just to add on my way home on the same road i got pulled over again with my emergency signals on and processed by Sheriffs Deputies to see if i could land myself in jail tonight! But luckily i got let go.

Does anyone know who makes a strong license plate braket that woun't brake off at high speeds? :frown:

The 'ole hotbodiesracing.com undertail huh? Mine did same thing. I am fabricating one from aluminum. Goto homedepot and pickup the aluminum and other assorted hardware. Make cardboard template. Cut, drill, and mount.

When I get mine done I will try to post pics.

PEACE!

You know i had a feeling when it happened that peeps all over the world where going to the DMV to get new plates cause of hotbodies. Or should i say cold bodies cause i would like to ice them for that cheap a$$ $#!t!

If i find one from a comp that looks good i will give you the link and anyone else out there that are victims of hotbodies!

In hotbodiesracing's defense. They have discontinued that plate mount. AND they also state that the undertails are for race use only meaning the plate mount was an extra, not recommended. They have sinced switched to a new metal mount.

And yes, I luckily found mine. Turns out it was in the road right where a did a one wheel salute to a bunch of Harley riders that snubbed me. In retrospect they prolly saw it break off and got the last laugh... =(

Check out DevilBikes.com for some other undertail options...

PEACE!

There is no recall, they just stopped selling the plastic plate mount.

Also, if you already have the undertail installed, you really want to back to a fender eliminator? I can't if I wanted to due to the cutting that had to take place. I will let you know when I am done with my bracket!

PEACE!

Yep Hotbodies :bird: mine did the same thing a few months ago. I just put a backwards bend in the top of my plate, and hard mounted the creased portion to my undertail, works fine, looks better, plate is just as visible from the rear.

I made one out of a $3 peice of Sheet Metal from Pep Boys. It was kinda hard to cut with metal sheers so i got out the old grinding wheel and made short (long) work-o-that mutha! I'll post a pic or attachmentof my GREAT (fu--ed up) peice-o-work.

HOTBODIES typical failure. Call Roger at HOTBODIES to get the new metal one.

[/ QUOTE ]Woohoo! That s--t was gonna cost me almost $100. I allready had to get a new plate, and a new braket cost 50 plus shipping. I'll call those cheap f--kers tommorrow.

MIKE! You get more files with honey than vinegar...

I would recommend that first you chill, then call HotbodiesRacing and ask for Matt. Tell him that your plate bracket broke off and you need a new one. He will more than likely send you another one for free. I AM TELLING YOU THOUGH, (again) all the new bracket was for me was two little pieces of aluminum that won't fit the holes you already drilled into your undertail... I think you would be more happy spending $7 at HomeDepot and making one yourself.

Good Luck, PEACE!

I called hotbodies and talked to a guy that said he would send me a new metal bracket. I told em that my turn signal integrator did'nt work right and they pretty much told me f---off, and they would'nt compensate me $30 for my lost plate. But on the other hand I GOT A NIFTY LITTLE HOTBODIES SHIRT BEING MAILED TO ME IN 2-3 WEEKS!which i probably wount get without a fight. The name makes it sound like a gay guys shirt too. What man wants to wear a shirt with hotbodies on it, thats clearly a womans name for a shirt, and im advertising for them!
