ZX-9R B1 = 1994 (Obviously, the first "B" model)
ZX-9R B2 = 1995
ZX-9R B3 = 1996
ZX-9R B4 = 1997 (End of the "B" series)

Oopss...forgot to add the part about the motor differences:

Whatever differences there are in the powerplants must be minute, as the same OEM Service Manual covers all the "B" models.

If you have a specific question, let me know, I can always look up a spec for you in my service manual.

Thanks, Right now Im lookin to buy a zx9 motor for my 7r. Just wanted to find out what they meant by the b1-4.

Heres a question. Is there a way to tell which motor year it is by the number stamped on block?
