So do you guys really like your bike? What kind of mods have you done? If just a slip-on hows it running? I'm looking for a 600 but not sure which brand. It's either gonna be a zx6r or a gsxr.

I had both, the Kawi takes the cake, hands down. Not because of major performance differences, but I feel WAY more comfortable on the 6R. Not only is the ride position ight year's better, but it just feel's more seated in corners and under acceleration.

As far as mods, I've got a Muzzy slip on (no re-jet), and dropped a tooth upfront (much better), other mods are namely cosmetic. Haven't had any problems yet, so...

Really trick bike, and I think its also a better built bike. I'm not knocking the gixxer, I just think the 6R had a little better detail to quality. (why I bought one).
Check out my bio for the mods I did.
Hope your decision is a (green) one!

Thanks fellas. First I was diggin the yellow 6r, then I was considering going fuel injection with the suzuki. But now after seeing pudding7's pics of his 02' yellow 6r I'm leaning that way. That color looks sweet out in the sun. But whatever I do I got to get rid of my 9r 2000 I have now. I just took it for a dyno run and it's putting out a very healthy dose of power with a straight power curve. I'll post it tomorrow. Anyways, I really want to stay on the Kaw side of things so we'll see. /images/icons/smile.gif

I drive on the street only as of now. I find the 9r to be far to much power for the road. I would like to experince a more nimble ride and being able to run through the gears a little more. Also I would like to go to a track soon and this local track only allows 750cc and down on open track days. I need to find more information about this for I heard it from a couple friends and haven't actually called the track. But really there's absolutly nothing wrong with my nine. And all this wanting a new bike is basically just wanting something new. What the hell, someone has to help out the economy./images/icons/smile.gif

1st of all getting any 1998+ 600, and you got youself a exceptional ride! That being said, the 2000-2002 ZX-6R is the best all around sportsbike made! Wanna win a AMA champinoship (granted you gotta have some skills!)?...it done it a few times! Wanna go on a long haul and just RIDE?...the 6R's the most comfortable of the bunch! Wanna blitz a 1/4 mile?...it's been undefeated since 1996 (once again...skillz required!) in AMA! Gosh...what more could you ask for!!!! As far as mods go...get a full system pipe (perferably Akra), and change your gearing (either 1 tooth down in the front or 3 up in the back!), and you got yourself a serious piece of touring/racing material!! /wwwthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have a 2000 ZX6R and I wouldn't trade it for any other bike in the world.

It will perform like a perfect lady in the street if you are touring, but it will also perform like a nasty slut on the track if that's what is called for.

You get the best of both worlds from Kawasaki...awesome comfort and incredible performance...I think that is what you will hear from every Kawasaki fan out there!

Good luck...let us know how it goes /wwwthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Any modern 600 or above cc bike is really too much for the road. If street riding was your only concern, I'd say keep the 9, as you won't use all the power in that or a 6 anyway. But since you did mention track days, then by all means, get the 6R! Excellent track bike that will take you around most tracks faster than the 9 anyway (unless of course there are very long straights!). I think the only other 6 I would even consider would be the R6, not the Gixxer. The new R6 is nicely redesigned, and very light. Only problem is, it doesn't come in green!! /wwwthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I put my deposit on a 2003 636 today! Black is the only color to have, but silver might be almost as fast.

I'll be in the market for track day equipment like an exhaust, steering dampener and body work. PM me if you'd know which company is truely sharp on Kawasaki exhaust systems. Who has a rep for build the better race systems?

No worries, a few stickers can take care of that color/speed problem!!

You are going to have to change your name now!!

Exhaust for Kawasaki - Akrapovic or Muzzy - you are going to get into another big discussion - do a search, you'll get a whole bunch of good feedback. Lots of mixed opinions too.

Good choice!!

Man! This post is as old as dirt. Look at the date of my post. I still have the 9 since no one wants to buy the overweight hog. Maybe a new 03 6 would be cool. But the fatty hast to be sold and not traded. Too much of a hit/
