Help!

Like an idiot, I peeled off the World Championship Decal on the gas tank of my 2001 Mille. Well, that decal is different from all the others because it left a shiny finish, in the shape of the decal, on the paint. My bike is Matte Black, so it really stands out.

Does anyone know where I can get that decal so I can replace it? I went to the dealers, but it doesn't show up in any of Aprilia's decal kits.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't answer your question directly... but is it possible that the reason you see the outline of the decal is that what you're really seeing is glue or some other stuckum? If that's the case, Goof Off should take the residue off.

The Aprilia logo and the World Championship logos are both under the clear coat on the tank. Removing them would necessitate repainting the tank! /images/icons/crazy.gif

Madfalco, We are talking RSV's. For what I know of on my 2000.5 RSV, not one sticker is clear coated on the bike. Maybe that's what makes the Falco so special./images/icons/laugh.gif Trust me. I've peeled off about every decal. 200l's, that I don't know.

I have a 2001 Matte Black Mille and was able to take off all the decals I wanted with no problem except for the World Championship one on the tank. I think this one was clearcoated because of the shiny paint underneath it.

Since my bike is matte black, they really couldn't clear coat the decals like they could on on a shiny paint job. I don't know how or why they did it to that 1 sticker, but they did.
