By the end of this month, I should have a new bike. The question is, which one. Should it be a GSXR 750 or a 954RR I 've rode the R6 and a GSXR 600 and love them both. Never rode a 750 or 954. I feel I can handle anything on curves, I just want to upgrade. thanks for the help.

honda baby, go for the nine five fo! 954:) gixxer is a sick machine, but the 1k is basically as light as the 750 with a ton more hp....dunno, it's up to you, try to bum rides off your friends to get an idea.

Why would anybody take an R6 over a Gixxer 750?

Let other people be right sometimes...it soothes them for being nothing else!

color is your choice, adn it's not set in stone anyway, feel free to custom paint it if you'd like....standing out from the rest of the crowd is always nice...my bike has a tapeworks graphics kit and a really sh!tty paint job- former owner painted it...lil foul i must say, but it's gettin redone shortly and the graphics reapplied, haven't seena ny other cbrs in my area with my graphics kit, sorry no pics posted of it, but in tapeworks.com
under cbr f2/f3, its the "little mellow" or some gay name, but it definitely catches some looks.

I have a 1k gixxer and love it to the bone. The 954 is more bike than the gixxer 750, but less than the 1k (in hp to weight ratio, not price). I know the 1k gixxer is the best bike out right now for me, but I also feel the differences in all the liter bikes is so miniscule that one should choose the bike that fits/looks the best to them. The 750 and 1000 gixxer are both lighter than the 954 and the 1000 has more HP and it comes from WAY DOWN in the rpms. Not just peak power. What do you like to look at and sit on the most is the question to me. Hope this helps

The gixxer 1000 is actually heavier then the 954 by 4lbs And the 954 maybe a little more hp then the 750 but in the quarter mile the gixxer 750 will get just as good as times or better according to the latest magazines out there. according to them, the 954 is actually slower (despite a FEW more hp) then the gixxer

Learn how to get it up!

There is always a probelm with factory claimed dry weight. 5 or 10 lbs either way doesn't mean a thing because much more than that can easily be made up by differences in the size of the battery and how much oil, gas, and water it holds.
(Also, as a number of people have pointed out in the past, to really compare the weight of "my bike" to "youre bike", you have to do it with the rider sitting on the bike in full gear. In my case that would add another 190 lbs. In my wife's case that would add another OUCHHHHHH, STOP HITTING ME, OUCH!(*&$%...

(just kidding, she's a total babe.)
