valve guide install. This is for a dirtbike but either way its the same thing. i haven'r recvd a response anywhere else so i will try here.

how do you do this.

i have the guide installer tool. the angle is too hard to use a press and the manual shows a nylon hammer being used on the punch. should i heat the head guide area with a propane torach and freeze the guides? how hot can i get the head before warping is a concern? its for a 83xr350 singlr cylinder four valve head. thanks in advance.

NEVER i repeat NEVER heat just one spot of your cilinderhead it will warp at verry low temps best you can do içs put the cilinderhead in the oven (as hot as you can get it) and freeze the guides as hard as you can and push it in as far as you can DONT hit it ti hard with a nylon hammer just slightly tap it in till it is seated right. oh btw dont let the guide heat up or your in deep poop
