Ok I may be showing my ignorance here but i will ask nonetheless, I have read in several places that a slip-on is recommended over a full system as to preserve the EXUP valve on EXUP equipped bikes. Is this true? What would be required if I were to install a full system on a 2002 R1 with the new injection system on it? Thank you all in advance for your responses.

What you have heard is BS... I have had a full system on my R1 since it had 150 miles... Yes there is some sputtering down around 2,000 rpms if you whack it, but I don't ride like that so it's a non issue.
But most of us won't be able to answer your question on the '02, no one has had them long enough to do the mods and find out the results.
