Supercorsa\'s rock!

I just took the Daytona for the first ride with the Pirelli Supercorsa's, the difference is incredible! If feels way more planted and turns in very, very smooth. The rears are quite a bit taller though and I had to put spacers under the rear hugger. While I was at it I retorqued everyting and adjusted the throttle and clutch, which I recommend to everyone, I thought I had the throttle tweeked perfect but actually, it had almost 1/4 inch of slack, now it's silky smooth. Anyway, I am so glad to get rid of the bridgestones, maybe it's just me but I hated every minute on them!

Tires make a big difference and they just keep making them better. When I switched to Pilots on the Daytona it felt like a whole different bike! Lighter, greater feedback, more grip, compliance, everything was improved. I have heard that the new Metzler Sportec's raise the bar even higher!

Re: Supercorsa\'s rock!

It sounds like you have had good luck with the Michelin's, do you really like them that much better than the stock BT010's, I think they are stock on the Daytona. I switched from BT57 (BT020) to Michelin Macadam 100X. I do not like the harder compound and extended warm up time. Plus they ride harsh and i have played with the psi quite a bit. I know that tires differ from compound to compound, but are the supercorsa that much of a difference??

Re: Supercorsa\'s rock!

You might like to try the Pirelli Dragon GTS if you are looking for a tire that splits the wear/performance difference between something like the Macadam and a Pilot or Supercorsa. The GTS is a nice all around tire. Not a supersport level of performance but a great tire for sport-touring duty. They wear well, warm up quickly(something that Michelins don't do), are good in the ran, provide nice levels of traction, and they have a compliant ride.
The Bridgestone 020 seem to be a favorite of some of my riding friends who are looking for a tire that has a balance of performance, wear, comfort and cost.

Re: Supercorsa\'s rock!

The 010's come stock on the 02 Daytona, personally I think they suck, they are very vague and mushy. The Pilots on the RS made a great difference. I thought the Mille just had a great suspension but now I realize most of the difference was in the tires, these things are very impressive. I havent ridden on the new M1, or the Michelin H2's yet though, but I have ridden R-1's and gixxers back to back with different types of tires, the supercorsa's feel the most planted, they dont thump over seams in the road, and roll into a corner very smoothly. I dont think I will ever go back to anything else, but like I say, I havent been on the H2's or M1's.

I will look into the Pirellis at the end of the season. My Michelins only have about 2000 miles on them. i probably will go back to the BT020's, I have always had Bridgestones and they have been my favorite so far.
