Pilot Roads. They are pretty bad in loose snow, but do okay on hardpack. The main roads were slimey with de-icer and the occasional snowy patch. They had good traction on the greasy cold pavement - I'd do the occasion 'throttle check' for traction - all in the name of safety, you know

This is my favorite kind of snow - it's been cold enough to remain powdery. No slush. It's the kind that squeaks like styrofoam when you walk on it

Are you going to be able to bring a bike?

[/ QUOTE ] Unfortunately I won't. I'm staying with some friends and they don't ride. They do, however, live on a huge ranch and have ATV's.
