Has anyone raced Road America on a GSX-R 600? If so, what gearing did you use? I am hoping that by going back to stock gearing (currently up two teeth in rear sprocket) that this set up will work well and not put me at redline in 6th halfway down the straight.

Sounds like your going to be geared too tall. I'm down one on the countershaft and run a 51 in the rear. On most tracks I don't need 6th. Just the top of 5th and its geared way shorter than yours. The bike is geared way too tall stock. I hear Road Atlanta is fast but that's still probably too tall.

Stock front sprocket and 2 teeth up in the rear. (16/48 [this is for a 98 600]) I think. This gearing seems to work fine for the shorter tracks, but Road America is 4.2 miles long! I will bet the farm that if I leave the gearing as is, I will be redlined out in 6th halfway up the straight! What gearing do you run?

Amos, you are running a 15 front and 51 rear? What tracks do you run at? Maybe If I can relate to some tracks, then I can determine what gearing to go with. Both for Road America and the other local tracks (Gingerman, Blackhawk, Putnam,......)
