i put on a yosh bolt on about a month ago on my gixxer 600. i was told that you dont have to remap your fuel if it's just a bolt on and that they stress it on full systems.

should i just do it anyway as a preventative measure?

Here's my experience. You DO NOT have to remap with the addition of a slip on. But you should /images/icons/wink.gif

Is the Gixx 600 FI or carbs?

After I added my slips I did a couple of Dyno runs and got 6 HP from them! That's pretty damn good for just slipons and no other mods. However, the power curve was not exactly what I'd call smooth. A little while later I got a Power Commander and loaded a map specifically designed for my pipes and WOW! What a difference. Linear power , no dead spots , no huge power hits..just great!

So, if you want the best your pipes and bike can give you then remap/rejet. But if you can't do it right now then don't worry about it. It won't hurt your bike, you'll still get power gains from the pipe and it'll look and sound great!

Adding a PowerCommander to your GSXR may not add (much) more HP but it will make a huge difference when it comes to overall throttle response. The greatest improvement is at lower RPM's.

Overall, I would even recommend a PowerCommander to those without after market pipes/images/icons/wink.gif!

I've talked to 2 different tuners and they both say the same thing. "Getting a PC and remapping a FI bikes is one of the first mods. anybody should get.

Let other people be right sometimes...it soothes them for being nothing else!

Good point. Do you really need stands right now? I would say get the PC and the sliders and wait for the stands. Maybe buy some spools now too, that way if you need to use a stand you can borrow a friends/images/icons/wink.gif.
