Can someone post pictures of a rear fender that has been
trimmed? I know some of you have done this.

Josh, you and I discussed this. Can I see some pics of
what you have done?

I am trying to decide if I want to go ahead and do this.

I think I am going to remove the reflectors on the sides
of the front and back. As well as maybe trim that rear
fender this weekend.

I am just starting to get used to looking at my 12 and
thinking, "Yup, that's my bike."
So I am starting to get the urge to change some stuff.

I really like that undertail, and would go that way right
now, no questions asked, if I wanted to spend the money
on that. I want to do some home improvements next though.
New fence, paint the garage, and the trim on the house,
new shutters, maybe a new door.
And if I am really lucky, a hottub.

Ya, that chop job is about what I was thinking.
Still undecided. Oh well.

IanR1 yes I know of, and spend a fair bit of time
on that site. They are not usually as helpful
if the forums though. I did ask there as well though.

I just trimed mine yesturday. all I did was I moved the lic plate up to where the reflector was and cut the fender just below the plate. It looks good, shorter without looking really choped.
sorry I don't have a dig camera.

I did a poor boy tail mod to my 2000 zx12r.

1) Remove your tag holder and using a very sharp knife, cut away all the ugly black plastic that you can, but leave enough plastic to support the turn signals and to insert 2 fasteners through the 2 bottom holes in your tag when you re-instal it.

2) Remove the cheesy DOT reflectors from the sides.

3) Trim your tag so that it will slip up under the brake light about 1/2 and inch. You can do this by trimming some of the top of the tag off and cutting angles on each side.

4) Remove the turn signals and you will see they are mounted on extensions. You can pull the extensions off and put the extensions on the inside of the fender, and then the signals don't protrude as much.

You can find pictures my zx12r at my website on this page:
