I am firm beliver in Mobil 1 synth, but pricey. I have used it in all of my bikes and cars. Over 550,000 miles combined, no engine problems. The Penzoil is cost effective though.

I use castrol R4 superbike oil in my 01 R6.Its fully synthetic & only comes in 5w-40.At $9.00 a qt its well worth the money. It makes the transmission shift so much better & so far no clutch slip. The oil has been in bike for 1500 miles & no problems.

Castrol 10w30 is my choice for the gear train.

MOTUL 600 2T for the oil injection tank. Expensive, but the best!

I've used Castrol, Pennzoil, Mobil1, Amsoil, and few other full synthetic oils. IMO there all better than what the motorcycle manufactures recommend. I personally like Amsoil 10w/40. Use what ever you like that can be easily found. I have a hard time finding Castrol, Penn, Mobil1 in full synthetic 10W/40 in my area.

I personally use Amsoil 10w40 m/c oil and filter.. I haven't had any problems here.. Amsoil also makes a synthetic shock oil.. I also use Amsoil in my cars.. I love not changing the oil for 25,000 miles...hehehe
