There will be three road racing events in the Lower Mainland this year:
July 1st
July 27th
July 28th

The gate is only C$10 for spectators (kids under 12 are free). Last year there were almost 1000 people at the single event (which featured Steve Crevier putting on an amazing show!).

I'm helping to promote all three races. There is contingency money from Yamaha Canada and probably EBC and a few more. There will also most likely be decent prize payouts for the Pro classes.

I wish we had a track like PIR in close to Vancouver!/images/icons/smile.gif

We have to make do with Mission for now. All the racers in BC race OMRRA and/or WMRRA. We are just trying to get a local series going too.

I know someone riding a FZR1000 right now, but I don't think he's ready to part with the engine yet!/images/icons/wink.gif

Active Mountain ran out of cash. There is still a possibility there but don't hold your breathe.

You can get a race license from WMRC (Westwood Club). They had a class already this year, I'm not sure if they are doing two this year (they did two last year). Email John at [email protected] for info. If there is enough interest I'm sure they'll do another class. I think it costs around $200 - $250 but includes a track day (worth $100).

There is also racing on Vancouver Island (no race prep needed/images/icons/crazy.gif):

I never knew Van Isle had a track!! Although the ride out to the coast is a pretty fun ride in itself. I'll have to check a map to see where Courtney is...

Yeah, they were racing out there last year. I don't think its much of a course, but anything is better than nothing.

Hey Kman, How easy is it to get a race license if you already have a race license from somewhere else? I have AFM, AMA, and HRRA licenses already. I might be moving from Hawaii up to Cali and I want to try to do as many races as I can. I also want to do a bit of traveling while I am up there. So I figured I might as well race while traveling. Racing up in Canada sounds fun. Do you guys let Yanks race? *l*
