am I blind, or does the little owners manual that comes with these bikes not mention anything about the oil change procedure?? I just got a 2001 mille, and it just tells you how to check and top off the oil. Any special procedures to change the oil? And filter? Is there only 1 drain plug?? Just curious, haven't ever had a bike with a dry sump oiling system??

This site has just about everything you need short of an overhaul, and many thanks to it's owner. I, personally, was pretty chapped that the "manual" doesn't cover oil changes, front wheel removal, these things are basic.

the oil change is a little fiddly, it's worth seeing how it's done,

According to Aprilia, oil changes are a dealer service procedure. Considering my dealer used the wrong weight oil and didn't have any oil filters in stock when I tried to buy one the day I dropped off the bike for its first service, I think Aprilia needs to investigate that recommendation.
