As you may or may not know, I used to have a '93 Acura Integra and my wife had a '96 Mitsubishi Galant. Well the Galant was a piece of trash, and we finally decided to bite the bullit and get her something more reliable. We had to trade both my Acura and her Mitsu. to pay off her car. We ended up with a 2001 Nissan Altima with 10,000 mi. My wife is quite happy with it. It's her first car with a CD player, so that novelty is pretty cool for her.
I wasn't too worried about just having my '73 Ford pickup, because I'd already replaced the steering wheel, heater core, hoses, belts, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and exhaust.
Well about three days after we got rid of my Acura, the darn thing had a crack in the radiator and it didn't wanna start some days. FUN!
I was fortunate enough to work with a guy who loaned me his '84 BMW 325e for two weeks while the truck was down. But I hate driving someone else's vehicle.
Thanks to Ray fiddling with the carb and $100 for a rebuilt radiator, it was back on the road once more. Still, there's no substitute for an extra vehicle.
With not much cash to my name, I was in search of a deal. Well, boys and girls, I found one!
I managed to procure a '68 Plymouth Fury III. It is an original unrestored one owner car with the owner's manual intact and just over 100k mi. on the clock. The car is White with a red interior, and it is in very good condition.
Somehow, I got it for just $800! I had to have the battery recharged, and it needs a few minor things, but it runs well and is in great working order.
I know it's butt ugly. It's the kind of car that takes a certain attitude to like. It kinda has a B-52's Love Shack kinda feel to it. You know, "I got me a Chrysler it's as big as a whale, and it's about to set sail!" Ray likes it when I immitate that guy!/images/icons/wink.gif
Any way, I'm kinda excited about it, so I thought I'd share the news with you, my extended family. I can't wait to put a killer stereo and some engine modifications in it!
I sure hope it starts tomorrow!
