I have an F4i and want to get something bigger. I mainly ride street so should I go with the new RC51, 954, or try to scoop up a new 2001 929 before it's too late? Low & Mid-range power is more important to me right now since I mainly ride street. Which one is a better street bike?

CaBRon~ Since I'm always looking to save a dollar, I'd go with the 929. In reality you can't go wrong with either of the bikes you mentioned. IF money's not important to you, then get a new 954. The '51 is a good bike but I'm still a fan of the inline four. So basically all will do double duty as a street racer and a Sunday cruiser (well with the '51 you might need a chiropractor appt. /images/icons/wink.gif). Good luck!

I am at 3,983 miles. Still hurts but I do have a tolerance for it now than when I first got it. I was so used to my old R6's big but girly seat.

I don't think you'd go wrong with any of those bikes. If you like your F4i then why not get a Corbin and be done with it? And if you want more comfort I think the RC51 is the wrong way to go. If you want to move up then the 929 or 954 will be great for you. Then it comes down to how much you're willing to spend./images/icons/smile.gif

Your bike is sweet. How much? I'm kinda "iffie" about buying used anythings. My friend has a 01 championship edition R6 and it was trashed ($4000 worth damage) inside a month. It was repaired and looks brand new and rides fine. I always buy new stuff. You bike is one of a kind though. My tour in this war is up in about 3-4 months. I have lots of time to think about what I'm gonna do.

I personally haven't rode the 954 yet, but I traded my F4 for the 01 blk/ylw 929 and would not trade it for anything. However, the seat on it is close to the F4i. I have set on the 954 and it's seat is worse than the F4i and my 929. For the cash, go for the 929! Honestly, how much more power are us cbr guys getting out of 25cc's. BUT, I do like the new swing arm and tail section(would chop the fender) and the headlight system. The #'s in the mag's seem to be close to the same for the 929 and 954. One question, have you won the lottery? NO>929 YES>954, Just my opinion though.

Heh the question is not really that clear cut, like a 1 or 0. I would factor into this that:

1) 954 will be around for 2 years (ie. resale will be better in 2 years when you sell, rather than the older 929rr model)
2) Motorcycle Magazine just wrote a whole article about the 954rr being an entirely different beast than the 929. Stiffer, more power, smoother. They emphasized smoother.
3) How much is 2000$ worth to you?

Obviously from my statements, I'd go with the 954rr. I hate buying outdated [censored]. I'll do it when buying cars because I can save a whole assload of money, but with a sportbike, part of the deal is the whole poser factor, too... =0) just my take on the issue.

Here's the deal. I will be returning from this war in about 3-4 months. I will have accumulated around $7000 spending cash. I still owe about $6.5k on my F4i. So, I could pay off my F4i and trade in for the 29 or 54 or I can just mod up my F4i. What would you do?

trade in for the 954. then you won't have an excuse to spend for a few years.

If I were you I'd personally save that money and buy property, though.

So... dude... have you ridden any one of these three bikes? I can tell you right away that you might like the smoothness of the F4i better than either of those bikes. The F4 is a solid rig, in my opinion. I like it.

The 929 is super powerful. The RC51 is super... unique. The 954... I don't know but I bet you it's a handful. You better ride these bikes before you decide.

Whatever you do, do not TRADE IN! If you have the money to pay off the bike, do so... but for god's sake don't get bent over by the dealer. You will always get more money if you sell it yourself. Much more. It may take a month, but it'll go in the riding season

just Ride!
