Just got a new 2001 Mille. I have seen the 3 mods that I assume everybody makes to these bikes (clip wire, air box mod, exhaust restrictor removal) I also will be wanting to get a new exhaust and reprogram the computer. I seen the Aprilia racing Titanium can, the single can, and the chip at the dealer. He said he'd sell it to me for $636.00us. I wanted to check around and make sure there isn't another system out there that people are getting better power out of. Does anybody make a full system, or is it pretty much not needed? Also, where is the best place to purchase the Aprilia race exhaust and chip other than the dealer, figured I could maybe get it cheaper......
Also, if going with another aftermarket exhaust, who has the best way to reprogram the computer?
I know there are a lot of questions, but this bike is new to me and I'm not too familiar with the Aprilias...I've had maybe 25 bikes so I'm very experienced with other brands.
thanks for any info,

Renegade make EXCELLENT power, come with a matching EPROM that's superior to just about anything and also have a kit for your airbox available.

I picked up 12HP at 5K and 6HP on top with a similar setup (LeoVinci pipes, FactoryPro EPROM and Renegade airkit)

do you like the leovinci pipe, what does it sound like? I'd like to get the deepest sounding pipe, the most bassiest?? know what i mean? Looks like you picked up a good bit of usable power. I have been thinking of the factorypro chip. Would you recommend it. Also, the renegade air kit, what is that? Where do you get it? Does Renegade have a website...thanks for the info.

The Renegade site is http://www.renegade-usa.com

They're pretty much the leading system for Aprilias - Damn good pipes, damn good gains, and their dedication to their customers is exceptional. Jorge, the owner, has called me from England to make sure all was well with my airkit, and his people are equally commited. Jim (forgot his last name) recently started a Rene branch here in the US after an abortive attempt to use another company as the importer.

Name the configuration (except undertail) and they have it - Single, duals, low and high mount, including a full system. A matching EPROM comes as part of the exhaust and is as good as the FactoryPro chip I'm running.

Sorry if it seems like I'm gushing, or trying to sell you, but no other companies support Aprilia like that.

Jim whatshisname here..../images/icons/wink.gif as you can see my bike and Tim's bike also. The full Renegade Full system is very throaty and lots of base. Sounds amazing...anyone on these boards that have heard the slipons will tell you how nice the Renes sound... Wait til you guys hear the full system...even deeper sounding. /images/icons/smile.gif

John and I are trying to get his laptop to work so we can do a sound bite. Our buddy Harry has his RSV in my garage as his Renegade Full System is coming in tomorrow. We are hoping to record a before and after sound clip.

We'll keep you posted.

Hey Jim ~ It's about time Harry converted! We couldn't hear him, so we never knew where he was all the time!! /images/icons/smile.gif

And yes, I'm one of the Renegade users who can verify that sweet music that plays through those "silencers"!! /images/icons/cool.gif
