Any other suggestions?...Also will I need to remap, with just a slip-on? How important is that?

i don't think a remap is completely necessary with a slipon...my best advice would be to deal with the poor sounding stock exhaust till you can get a full system....a full system yields far more power over the slipon plus reduces weight....damn havy stock headers:) (in some cases). a slipon will sound better, but i bet that withint a year you'll be considering sellin the slipon (at quite a loss) for a full system...just my opinion...and i'd go with full akrapovic if you can swing it...it'd be a differenkt zook:)

Welcome to the site! I will say to remap the FI along with the bolt-on and you'll gain noticable differences in power, smoother power delivery, on/off throttle, not so much choppyness in the low revs. Plus if you ever decide to change to a full system, you'll already have the PC. I had a TBR C-5 oval canister on my 01 Gixxer 750 which I am now going to put on my 02 1000.

Let other people be right sometimes...it soothes them for being nothing else!
