Alan- A lot of people laugh at that notion, but I'm not one to shy away from some higher handlebars, and lower pegs in the name of functionality. Did I tell you I saw a couple with a backrest on an RC51? Their plate said OHIO and I was in California when I saw them...

I thought "Sweet! I gotta tell my old woman, now I can get that RC!"

The RC51 is much more uncomfortable than an R1 and even a Gixxer for that matter. At 5'9", most bikes (including the latter two mentioned) fit me fine with no discomfort, but I couldn't get settled in the RC51 and it's a shame because that's teh bike's only fault. Performance, handling, and styling are all there, but comfort obviously wasn't a priority. The '51 reminded me a lot of the Duc sportbikes. Great for the track, hard for the street.
