Sorry guys but the ole' anchor is sold. I watched the 1994 ZX-9R that carted my ass safely through countless corners and wheelies ride off into the sunset piloted by some hoochie mama looking greaseball. Oh well, at least he lives out of state and I don't have to suffer from seeing him paint it pink or something haha.

- As another note....this is my official notice of defection from our segment of the brotherhood. I am done with the repetitive boredom kawasaki is delivering (just my opinion....sorry). Decided to go with something REALLY different ..for me anyway... and forfeit my inline rocket for an RC-51. Its a 2002 so I don't have it yet but it will be one of few around and I have major plans for it. You guys will always be my comfortable, heavy homies haha. Chiropractor here I come! Woohoo

(special condolences to Kman, QuantumDuck, and 9runicycler for leaving the red silver and black brigade!)

Re: I watched my 9 ride away today / Kawi obituary

You do know that the RC51 carries 20 more kilos than the current 9R and makes about 15 - 20 less horses? ( and the SP2 is still very ugly )

Should have got an RSV ;)

#1. I did indicate that I realize the RC51 is a different animal all together.

#2. Everything I like to do the RC does very well.

#3. The weight jokes were meant in fun for the comrades I shared a ton of laughs with on this site (most owned older 9s). Sorry newbie.....you'll get over the insecurity sooner or later. Till then just keep being ignorant. I don't remember asking for opinions on its looks but I'm sure you feel better lol. I'll keep my opinion of your plain black bike to myself.

Actually I would really love an RC51 for a track bike but 1) I can't afford it and 2) it's not really an entry level racing bike /images/icons/smile.gif

I'm sure you'll love it. Make sure and post some pics for your old friends in the Kawi forum when you get her /images/icons/smile.gif

Cool, thanks. I'll let you know how well it carries the front wheel as soon as I get it broken in!

Re: I watched my 9 ride away today / Kawi obituary

I feel that the RC51 is a beautiful looking bike. It would have been my bike of choice could I have afforded it. But then I would never had ridden the ZX9R and found out what a treat it is to ride. I'm all for trying different bikes as how can you make an informed opinion unless you've ridden different manufacturer's bikes. So many people rattle off specs they read in a magazine and base opinions off that instead of experience. Everyone has different tastes and that is why manufacturers make different bikes. It would suck if everyone rode the same bike as you have to admit it is fun being able to ride your friends bikes and seeing what they are like compared to yours. Its better to enjoy the riding experience that each bike offers rather then enjoy the fact that you are riding a bike that is less weight or more power. Hope you enjoy the new ride GuntherZX-9R(or should I say GuntherRC-51). Be sure to show us some pics and tell us how she rides. Enjoy!

it's ok now, you moved up to a real bike now...no more kaws:) just kidding, they're all amazing. the rc51 is plenty fast dude, and has much torque, plus it looks good and is a honda. good choice overall, and it's nice to be different for sure, instead of being one of a billion 929/954s, you'll be one of a few rc51s(few relatively speaking, i know there are quite a few out there)

Re: I watched my 9 ride away today / Kawi obituary

I would never hold it against someone if they jump from a zx to an RC or a Ducati. Now, going to an R-1, 929, or GSXR that everyone already has is silly. I'm sure you'll love the bike. As for being heavy, I love my 95 9r but, it IS pretty damn heavy.

Forgive & forget. Just never forget when I forgive.

That's too bad. Giving up the most beautiful paint scheme that ever came out on a sport bike, and moving to a honda no less!! /images/icons/wink.gif

Continuation of the obituary!...9runicycler just hocked his to the next guy that responded to my add! Both sold out of my garage in two days for 4500! Not bad with 20,000 plus miles and some maintenance issue to deal with. I'm sure he will be home confessing soon too! Just you and Quantum now Kman! Sorry

Well I guess that means you two will be headed backwards.... to 'enewbies', muhahahahaha/images/icons/laugh.gif!!!

What ever makes you happy dude, my old ride was a 96 9R, so I know where you're coming from about the weight. I want so badly to just get over it and buy the 12R, but I want something lighter than my old 9R in the worst way, and the 2002 9R is way lighter so that's the bike for me. The RC-51 is the bike for you, so all's well in the Universe.

Live long and prosper... and may you never be passed by you're old 9R on one wheel/images/icons/wink.gif.
