Well, i traded in the F4i for an 02 GSXR600M Telefonica edition, I get to pick it up on Wed. I got it for $7600.00. I bought it on Saturday but since it was out of state i have to wait for the state inspection but that is fine with me since it has been in the 20's since then. But this weekend it will be 60 degrees out. woohoo!!!

I'm just curiuos as to why you would take the dealer's trade in value(which in most cases is a big loss from what you could get for selling it to a private owner) on your F4i just to get another 600. Is it the looks, the name brand you always wanted...etc? I hope it wasn't for power reason's.

Well it was for two reasons really, i liked the looks of the GSXR, and it was what i wanted, kind of a spur of the moment thing. I do not expect any power gains with the gix but i do expect some different handling characteristics. I feel i really did not need to upgrade to a liter class bike when the 600 has more power and ability than i will ever be able to use on the street. Just felt i needed something new.

Congrats! Great bike! I have an '01. 600s haul a$$! I sometimes pass bigger bikes at the track and can't imagine wanting more power on the street! What's the use? I rode a few laps on an F4i last year and while its a great bike it felt almost like a sport touring bike compared to my GSX-R.

I did the same thing. I just thought it was a bit easier and the profit from the sale went into the tax charged from that dealer for the new bike. I.E. instead of paying tax on a $10,000 bike, I paid on a $4500.00 bike. I actually made money from the deal. I listed the bike like I was selling on the street, and the dealer added their little alrightythen, and it sold in less than 1 week. I dunno?? I guess I was lucky!

Don't be fooled. At most you saved about $500 tax, and that's being generous. But the dealer usually gives $1000-$1500 less than what you could have sold it for on the street. So really, you probably lost between $500-$1000. That's a helmet and a leather jacket. Congrats on the bike though, turncoat /images/icons/wink.gif.

Hey AMP congratulations. Great price. I have had mine about 6-months now and love it. I traded up from an 98' FZR-600. Mine is going in the shop and getting the following: Akrapovic Full System with Titanium Can, Power Commnader III, Hotbodiesracing.com undertail. I will post some pictures when i pick it up!

Enjoy the riding!

Thanks guys, i have already ordered an undertail from Carbotex. I think the company that actually makes it is Pyramid Plastics. I installed a TRE, MIG alum Fiber high mount exhaust, and Intuitive Frame and Swingarm Sliders. I will post pics as soon as i get everything installed.

amp, it is Pyramid that makes them and they look pretty good. Did you order them from Jeff at Carbotex? I went with the Extremegraphics undertray and Libertek LED's. The only thing I didn't like about the Pyramid is that the slots for the new lights are not the shoot gun look, they're bunch up in the middle and not sucked back into the tail piece.
