Help with \'02 650s - won\'t idle after storage
My wifes bike (3k miles) has been sitting for about 4 months or a bit more and today I went to start it and it fired right up, then died. So I cracked open the choke even though it was fairly warm today and it fired right up again and idled fine (but high of course). After about 30 seconds I slid the choke back and it died. Repeated that several times. I tried blipping the throttle and each time it would die immediately. Thinking I might have old gas, I mixed it around and added about 1 gallon of 100 octane unleaded. Same problem. I didn't see an easy way to drain the tank since there's a baffle as soon as I open the fill door?
I'm getting ready to crack open the manual and start diagnosing, but wanted to get some insight in case this is a common problem. The bike ran beautifully the last time she rode it. Bad gas, stuck float? Should I try some of those water in the gas type additives?
Thanks in advance...
