Am getting heli-bars for the Superhawk (2001 model). Heli says they replace directly with no mods but the front brake line doesn't look like there's eniugh slack in it to rise the inch and an eight to the heli-bar height. Any experience here, anyone ? Thanx in advance for any help and GO NICKY !

The Stock lines will work it's tight though.Do yourself a favor and put on new front brake lines that is one of the best mods you can do on a VTR. I've got galfer but goodridge are very good also. Good luck.

LOL......yea ok!

If comfort is ur first priority then ur looking at the wrong line of bikes!
Since we're on the subject of comfort anyone making highway pegs for the Hawk yet? Why stop there what about one of those lumbar support things. LMAO!

If u've out grown the purpose of what a certain machine is built for then maybe its time to move onto somethng else is all Im saying.

should've bought a VFR in my book but if you incist on adjustable handle bars why not check out the 2BROs bars...not only do they still look cool, but they are fully adjustable as well...they even have riser bars and you can interchange them also....

I started doing some distance on my VTR and decided to raise the bars. Don't let these other guys give you a hard time (they too will age some day). Unlike you though I chose the Genmar risers. They worked great with the stock lines. They're considerably cheaper and the install was easy. You'd be amazed what 3/4 inches will do for comfort. I could ride about 45 minutes before my hands began getting numb. Now I can ride about as long as my nicotine addiction will allow me. The superhawk is great for distance and this little mod has made it a keeper for life. I purchased the risers at cyclesaddles.com, they arrived within a week. Either way, helibar or genmar, you won't regret it. Good luck.

"Let's see you ride several 600 mile days in a row on your bike.
I can ride just as fast as you in the twisties with my comfort modes."

gr8vfr: Am I supposed to be impressed? Dont get ur panties all bunched up there tough guy!
As for ur first statement above...... been there done that!
2000 miles in 4 days on a FZ600 no less, (which has to be one of the most uncomfortable sportbikes made to date), 1600 miles in 4 days on my 900RR(3 yrs ago) and about 1300 miles in 3 days on my RC51(2 yrs ago). So spare me the 600 mile/day hoopla, Im not one of the forum squids.

As for the second part.....LOL. If Ive learned any one thing in life, its usually the "Im so fast" guys who cant ride worth of sh!t.

My original post here started out as ball busting......sort of anyway. But theres always that one guy who has to take life to serious! LOL. If making ur sport tourer into a luxury liner is what floats ur boat.......then all the power to ya! Like the other guy said "to each their own".

As for waiting till ur 70 for a Gold Wing, I say you must have not ridden one yet. They are GREAT bikes and if I had the money I'd have one in my garage now and Im only half that age.

None of that adds up to 600 miles in a day./images/icons/tongue.gif
I'm just trying to keep it stirred up, don't go and get all mad at the yammi guy./images/icons/laugh.gif
I have Heli-Bars and crusecontrol and couldn't be happier.

I can't believe how serious people are getting over someone's opinion. It's funny how every one turns into Colin Edwards on the internet /images/icons/laugh.gif.

I never rode a FZ600, but I can't imagine there being a bike more uncomfortable (for long distace) than a Ducati (748 or 996/998)/images/icons/laugh.gif.

Ive ridden the latest Ducks believe me its a lil bit better, not by much tho. But then again if you get a gel filled seat and some bar risers for those bikes it cant be too bad huh?/images/icons/wink.gif

sportbikeluvr...You should be an expert on discomfort. The RC51 makes no compromises /images/icons/laugh.gif. Then again, if I had one I wouldn't give a damn about comfort. I could probably go cross-country without stopping and be grinning the whole time. I'd be too amped about the styling, torque and handling /images/icons/tongue.gif.
