ok so I have a question, I have read many of the posts in here all describing Duc gremlins. Can any of you tell me of any gremlins that plague the Monster line?

I can't think of anything specific to the Monster line, but there are a few things to look out for in general. Prior to '99 all the Ducs had a rather weak charging system, and you've probably heard about the brake slave cylinder re-call on the '01 bikes. Some guys have reported oil leaks at the crankcase seams on some of the '01 models but that should be a warranty fix. Unless you get the S4, flaking rockers should never be a concern. Come to think of it, I haven't heard of any rocker problems from S4 owners either, but it may be too early to tell. Overall, they're pretty solid.
