I just got a new front sprocket and chain, and before i go tearing into it and break
something, i was woundering if the nut on the front sprocket has reverse threads.
I looked in the service manual, but it doesn't seem to have any info on it.
Thanks

Counter shaft sprocket nuts are right hand thread (comes off counter clockwise)just remember to fold the lock washer down before you start and while reusable it's best to replace it. An impact wrench will be the easiest way to break the nut loose.

Never had that much trouble with the R6

Rather than start a new thread I'll ask this here:
What is the lbs/ft for the rear axle on a 2000 R1??

More than you can apply !/images/icons/tongue.gif I use the method of sticiking an end wrench in the rear sprocket . it does not go all the way in but it does stop all the works from moving.
