I'm trying to find a jacket to replace my beat-up textile Teknic Chicane, and I'm trying to stay with textile out of weight and cost considerations. I think I've narrowed the field down to FirstGear Speed or Spidi Mask. Can owner's of these jackets comment? I like all the vents on the Firstgear speed, along with the long-sleeve winter liner and neck warmer. I'm not too keen on the $294 price tag. Armor also seems pretty soft, but easily replaceable. Spidi Mask seems to fit the bill, but those detachable sleeves really scare me...I'm a bit worried about the arms coming off in a get off.

I'm also open to other suggestions that I may have missed. I'm especially interested in the following:

1. plenty of vents
2. adjustable waist AND adjusters on the arms to prevent flapping and to make sure armor stays in place.

if you're interested, I'll sell you a BRAND NEW (only wore twice), Joe Rocket METEOR JACKET. (2002 model, all black).

I got a really good deal on it, so I purchased it. But the truth is that I already have two other, LEATHER, Joe rocket jackets. So this one is, literally, just hanging around.

It's a size MEDIUM, and it's in brand new condition, (like I said, I only wore it TWICE), and it comes with a liner and "boo-koo" vents.

Oh yea, Seagram's 7...

the jacket also has an adjustable waist, straps to "tighten-up" the armor on the arms (so they stay where you need them), and plenty of vents.

Sorry, but I've already tried the Joe Rocket Meteor, and they don't fit me right...the elbow armor is up to my forearms /images/icons/frown.gif.

I have a firstgear speed jacket and I am quite pleased with it. The vents do keep you cool in the summer and the liner with neck piece is quite handy in the winter. I haven't had a get off so I can't comment on that but I don't have any complaints.
