I had a letter from my dealer asking if I wanted to extend the warranty on my SV (the original 1 year warranty expires this month) Here's what I'm told: (note: prices are Canadian)
1 year: $473.00
2 year: $674.00
3 year: $840.00 (yes its higher than 4 year!)
4 year: $812.00
The warranty is fully transferable btw.

My question: is it worth it? Or is this one of those cash grabs by the dealer?
Comments would be greatly appreciated.
(PS - I averaged 8,000 km on my bike last year and will do about the same this year)

In general extended warranties are a ripoff. My feeling is that if the item you are buying is expected to break down that soon then you shouldnt buy it.

As for your SV...I think modern sportsbikes are very reliable. Save your money. By the way I race an SV and they hold up very well.

Gravity is a cruel mistress.
