3 of them are under 1:50!! Yeah baby!!/images/icons/smile.gif
Look at Pascal!!! Is happy or what!/images/icons/laugh.gif I was at Daytona in 2000 and remember how unhappy he was on the VR. He tried though! So hard he probably blew up a dozen VR engines trying to compete on them! Glad he has a ride on a good bike now.

Go Nicky!

Yah, it's cool that Pascal can show his stuff this year (listen to me, I'm acting like I've met these guys or something /images/icons/laugh.gif)

Does no one race Aprilias in the AMA series?

2 more:

1. Are the supersports and the open-classers (Formula Xtreme?) racing Daytona too? What would their times be like (both slower, I would suspect, just because of the amount of money spent and modification allowed if not outright power)?

2. I know the track that NASCAR uses is just the oval, and I know it's different for the bikes, but do the bikes still use part of the same track? With the severe banking and all?

I think Pascal will get some victories, he'll be definately sit on the podium box a few times.

Look at how well he did last year at Daytona..... until the VR blew up.

The downside for Pascal at Daytona is that the Ducati has never done well in long races. You never see them in endurance races and Ducati has never won the 200. You'ld think that if anyone was going to win the 200 on a Duc, it would have been Bayliss before he got called up to WSBK. He was sitting on the Pole at Daytona too! (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Just maybe Pascal can pull it off.

The ama does not run formula extreme at Daytona. But with the possibility of the superbike rules changing to allwo 1000 Inline 4's next year could be very exciting.

A good portion of the oval is used. The difference being is instead of using turn one on the oval you turn into the infield. After the horseshoe and a couple of turns your on the banking again. Then on the back straight there is the chicane. Then back to the banking. It's incredible and I couldn't describe accurately but I will tell you it is cool as sh!t to be going 170 mph+ with the big boys on that track

I need to start following motorcycle racing more. I like watching it but haven't gotten into it as much as F1 stuff. What are the best sites for info on WSBK, AMA, etc?

The pro's are absolutely insane at Daytona. The speed they are carring into turn 1 is nuts!/images/icons/shocked.gif That banking is also extremely steep! I don't know how they do it!! Crashing at Datyona is extremely dangerous too. All the extra NASCAR 'catch wires' and such are ready to tear limbs off.

Aprilia hasn't homologated the MilleRSV for the AMA yet. They did get the MilleR homologated (rush effort last year at Daytona to get some privateers on). Aprila doesn't have a factory team in the AMA (yet!) so you are unlikely to see too many on the grid of the major races. Some Aprilia guys might want to correct me if I'm wrong./images/icons/wink.gif
