I'm riding a 98gsxr750 for 1 year now.I have been having this clutch problem for some time.Whenever i clutch in,it doesnt seems to be fully disengaged because when i put in it into any gear,it is difficult and a loud clunk sound will be heard. Now,i cant even change a gear smoothly unless i rev the bike up a little.A knocking sound can be heard too and it becomes softer when clutch is disengaged. There is no slippage so far.I've tried adjusting cable freeplay to that small nut near the front sprock but nutting helps. Can anyone out there pls help?

First thing I would do is to check your cable/push rod adjustment.
Push rod adjuster turned in until resistance felt and then back off 1/4 turn.
Then adjust the cable.
If that doesn't help I then would look at the clutch and shifter mechanism itself. I have seen where clutch hub nuts have loosened up or even the bolt on the end of the shift drum.

the srad bikes always seem to do this new or used you just have to deal with it also a factory pro shift kit will help slightly , but will help you tranny last longer in the long run

Im ganna feel this in the morning
