Team sources say the deal bringing three-time AMA Superbike champion Doug Chandler to HMC Ducati has been finalized. Chandler replaces Pascal Picotte as the team's sole rider on the squad's Ducati Superbikes.
Chandler will test the Ducati at Laguna Seca next week. It will be the first roadrace action for him since Virginia last October and his first ride aboard a non-Kawasaki Superbike since he rode for Harley in 1995.
While much of Chandler's success has come with Kawasaki, Doug has also ridden for Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Cagiva, and Harley-Davidson in his career.
