Alright guys, I need some info on the differences between a 2000 and the 2002 Mille R. I have the opportunity to pick up a 2000 with zero miles on it for $11,500 out the door. Any info and opinions are appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

Not sure about all the differences, although I know it's quite alot. But to get a Mille 'R' for that price brand new is a steal, no matter what year it is! Just make sure it's an R and not a standard. Just be sure to let me know where I can go to get it if you don't want it!! /images/icons/smile.gif

The most noticeable difference is the change in bodywork. There were internal engine improvements and changes in in engine placement for 2002, but I honestly doubt that any of us street riders will notice or benefit from those changes. That is an amazing price for an R model, it is $500 less than I paid for my standard model 2000 a year ago. Considering the difference in price between the 2000 and 2002, you could use the money you save to modify the 2000 to be much better than the 2002 with its improvements. Sit on them both and see which feels better to you as there is a difference due to bodywork (particularly the tank).

Good luck,
Gregory

Yes, it is an "R" model. It is at Clinton Cycles in Maryland. They also have a 2001 Falco for $9,000 out the door, but I am not much of a fan of half fairing bikes. I am seriously considering trading my 6R in for the Mille R. It is an incredibly beautiful bike and I like the fact that I have never seen one on the road before. I will have to talk it over with the wife and the bank and see what I can come up with.

That is what I paid for my 2000 RSV a year and a half ago./images/icons/frown.gif That is a very good deal! It is a great bike. Buy it!
