Press Release from Pirelli:

http://esport.sportbikes.com/news/mar02/000501_02_pirelli.html

<blockquote><font size=1>In reply to:</font><hr>

"Last year, I estimated we had about 25% of the Daytona Formula-USA and CCS field," said Pirelli's U.S. Race Manager Rich Munson. "This year I'd say we have close to 50%." If Munson's assessment is right, Pirelli's greatly-increased presence must be at least partially responsible for the company's outstanding showing at the opening weekend of 2002 Formula-USA race action at Daytona International Speedway on February 28, March 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

How's their contingency money?

One word "Great"
I use them and love them. When I first started racing AMA in 1998 99% of the supersport riders were on Dunlop. The few others were under support from the other manufacturers.
Last year it seemed that easily over 50% of the riders were on Pirelli.
Pirelli has a great program and is much more privateer friendly.

Yes, the growth looks amazing! I've talked to a few guys at the track running them and they love them. I'm going to try and get some race cast offs for my next track day and try them out.

Hey Indiana, what type of money do they pay? I make bank off Dunlop here in Hawaii, but I'm looking to try something new for the mainland races, but I also have to think about payback.

I have used them and found them to be a good tire tough i had a bit of a problem crashing on them so i lost a little confidence in them. Now i am on the Dunlops and they seem to be a bit more forgiving than either the pirellis or for that matter the michelins.

Jay if your running up front in club the certificates practically take care of tire expenses. Last year I was making more money in tire certificates than I was spending on them (at club events). I ended up letting about $500.00 worth of certificates expire cause I was too lazy to have the tires shipped to me at the end of the season.
