Well - it finally arrived today - a beautiful baby, weighing in at around 418 lbs.
My first impressions - WOW - that's all I have to say.
I can't wait to get this thing derestricted and feel the true power.

That's sure gonna look sweet once you paint the lower fairing! I still don't understand why they stopped painting them. Then of course the new pipes, chip, air kit.............. /images/icons/smile.gif

Plan on getting those pipes sooner than they told you. They like to surprise you with a quick delivery. They told me 2-3 weeks, and they were in customs a few days later!! Renegade is good for delivering ahead of their promises. Gotta love 'em! /images/icons/cool.gif

Jim - I was - but it got very cold very quickly - I gotta werk fast to get that damned 600miles out of the way.

Hey whats the deal with derestriction -- should I wait till the 600mile is finished, or jsut say hell with it and do it now? Whats the actual break-in schedule - udner 6k for 600, but what after that?

Crud ~ Didn't you read the owner's manual in full before operating the vehicle?? /images/icons/crazy.gif
Under 6k for the 1st 600. Under 7.5k from 600 to 900. After that, let 'er rip! As far as deristricting goes, there's no reason you can't do it now. The only problem would be that once you feel the power of the bike in derestricted form, it'll be very difficult to adhere to those break in guidelines!! Especially being the wheelie hooligan that you are! /images/icons/smile.gif
Even more important than rpm during the break in, is the need to constantly change engine speeds. Let the bike do as much engine braking as possible, as this is the best way to break it in.

My dealer de-restricted my Mille before delivery when it only had 1 mile on it. The manual is kinda ridiculous until that first time you disconnect your battery and need to reset all the displays, then you will have your nose in it like a 5th grader cramming for an exam /images/icons/laugh.gif. Your bike will wheelie even while adhering to the break-in rpms, mine would too. If only I could wheelie /images/icons/frown.gif.

Good luck,
Gregory

Also make sure you study the manual very diligently on how to operate all the functions of the computer. Then when you're done, come teach me how to use the damn thing!! /images/icons/crazy.gif
