Hi!
I'm the proud owner of a brand new 954, and I was thinking about getting serpent headers.
Full force talks wonders about them on his 929! 954 has a LOT more midrange (I know, I have ridden a 929 before), and I was just wondering how nice they would perform/look on my new baby ...
Do you know if Micron has one already? I emailed them on this, but they never answered.

Thanks in advance

hey, have i told you how great the serpents are .. man they are the best, uuuhhh-eeehhh sorry got a lil carried away there ... i predict that the serpent will yield even better results from the 954 because it does in fact have more low and mid than the 929 ... im looking for 150rwhp from a 954 with serpents and pc .. what you think evo?

Thanks for the info evo9.
Just one tiny little problem about calling hardcore racing ... I LIVE IN PORTUGAL ...
Do they ship worldwide ? If so, probably shipping and handling rates are way too high ...
Sniff sniff ... Wish I lived in America ...
... on the other hand, here in Azores we get to ride all year long ...
He! He!

Evo9, thanks again!
As for all of you who have the serpents (Honda or other), what is your opinion about it? I know it makes a big difference at the top end, but I was more interested in sound and low to mid range power (lot's of twisties, not too many straights around here). Dynos and what you really feel can be two whole different stories !
Does it make a significant difference in those two areas ?
Thanks again for the help !

Well thats the info I got from MICRON! Besides the internal of the engine, has nothing to do with the exhaust!

im not gonna call it stupid because im not out to insult anyone here but the only thing they will have to change is a bend or two in the pipe to clear the bodywork, maybe ethe 929 system hits a piece of the 954 bodywork but the motor is identical ... only difference is the cylinder is 1mm bigger around which doesnt have shat to do with the exhaust

Here'a another stupid question for you. When you bore out an engine, and keep the same exhaust, would the water jackets among other things need to be compromised to make room for the larger pistons? I'm not quite understanding where the extra room is coming from...things are already packed in there like an F1 car as it is. I'm not being a smart ass, I'm just interested.

Re: 945 serpent headers

The reason whay Honda only bore the block to 954cc. Is for reasons like water and oil passages! Had they gone bigger the side wall to each passage would be to thin! As full Force stated above its the same engine as the 929, only punched out! I guess thats the reason why Micron said the 929, serpents would fit the 954! I guess they were wrong, the fairing on the 954, is narrow than the 929!

Re: 945 serpent headers

there is a steel liner that goes between the the actual block. if the liner is fairly thick you caould bore it (or resleeve it really) and still use the same block. kinda like on a 400ex with a 440 kit. same cylinder with a diff sleeve and larger piston. except the the sleeve is thinner and thats why they only went 1mm in each cylinder.

just my 2 cents, anyways i hate honda's-wait i just bought a xr-dam
