Well the 954 finally hit my dealers floor in California. My dealer does not have a part number for the factory cowl from Honda. If you have it please post it here. Thanks in advance.

Well, I get a bulletin from Honda whenever new accessories are available, and I've yet to see one on any of the sportbikes. Plenty of cruiser bits though /images/icons/crazy.gif. Honda really needs something like Yamaha's GYT-R parts/accessories programs...

Gary,
go to powersportspro.com and create a profile under the "fish" thing. You can search schematics and locate the part you need. They may not have the 954 yet but soon... and at about a 25% discount on average below the dealer price (and no tax). FACT: EVERY dealer has part numbers... either you're full of BS or the guy at the parts counter is full of BS.

Shaft, Reference your comment below.

"FACT: EVERY dealer has part numbers... either you're full of BS or the guy at the parts counter is full of BS."

You can put that comment where the sun don't shine.

FACT IS: You don't know WTF you are talking about. I was looking at the fish right along with the parts counter guy. There is no part number for the rear cowl in the California fish version.

I was hoping it might be in the 49 states version. So why don't you call a Honda dealer in your area and get the part number for me. I would really appreciate it.

Anyway thanks for the powersportspro.com suggestion, I will check it out.

Wow, people are getting all hyper over a part Honda has not even publically announced yet. /images/icons/crazy.gif For those of you who don't work in a dealership, here's how it works:

1. Honda accessories (ie. parts that do not come with the bike from the factory) are sold under the Hondaline brand, and as such are not on the microfiche, either Ca. or 49-state.

2. Honda electronically sends bulletins to parts staff at its dealers when new Hondaline accessories are available. These bulletins include pricing and part number, and any other info that might be pertinent (occasionally something resembling ad copy).

I'm the wholesale parts manager for a dealer, and I have not recieved a bulletin on any 954 accessories. So, as far as I am concerned, there is no seat cowl for the 954 available from Honda. Don't slam the dealer (or the customer!) for not having a part number to something that hasn't even been announced yet.

nominal_squid,

Thanks for the information. A guy in Sweeden posted they were available there for $199. So hopefully they will be available here soon.
