i dunno bout that price bud, the bike is hopped up, but like...it's old and it has 48k on it for crissakes, let us know how much you get for it, i would doubt anything over 2k, i've seen f2s for less than your asking, with 1/4 of the miles...just my opinion

I don't know what bikes go for in NY , but you can't get
a clean bike for less than 2500 here in CA. My friend just sold an 87 VFR 700 for 1800 and it was rough.F2s are at least 3k and they are primered piles of SHI#. The last Cycle Trader I got, hurricanes were going from 2000 to 2500
no mods.

You mean that is a legit ad? /images/icons/shocked.gif. I thought you were just poking fun at gerry and his many ads. When its time to sell my bike I am taking it to Cali.

Good luck,
Gregory

Can't comment on NorCal, but I do see a lot of early 90s high mileage bikes, especially Hondas, asking top $$ in Cycle Trader. Of course I saw the same ads for several months.

Good luck but I think you're charging a premium for an old bike.

wow, prices must be way different out there, I have a couple friends that have bought a '93 F2 for $2500, it had a full system on it, only 18000 miles, slight damage to one of the side fairings. And a '96 F3 for $2900, with only 15000 miles on it and a few scratches, otherwise stock. I have seen Hurricanes go for less than $1500 around here in good shape and with half the miles. Good luck!

A co-worker of mine picked up a 92 cbr 600,12000 mi,NO plastic, all stock. for $1800.parted it out,$1600 for the motor and related parts, $900 for the complete front end.My asking price is just that,an asking price.People are free to
make an offer,if I don't sell it I'll let my wife ride it.Oh yeah , the local Honda dealer sold a 91 F2 35000 miles
for $4800,no joke.

Rohbz,if its not pouring rain tomorrow I will take some pics
and post them.I borrowed a digital camera tonight so I could
get pics up this weekend.I'm glad not everyone thinks I am
crazy. The price is negotiable.According to test in the April 1987 Motorcyclist,(I bought the back issue),the seat heightis 30.4 inches.Mine is a little higher due to the fox shock being longer.I still have the stock one if needed.Talk to you later.

I bought my 87 Hurricane with 12,000 miles on it and in great shape (back in 96) for $1800. Your asking a lot for that bike... I'm sure it's sweet, but that's pretty steep.

I agree that seems pretty high for a bike that has that many miles on it, mods don't make up for engine wear. I also live in California and I bought a 1997 ZX-6r with 4800 miles with a full system for $5,000 and I also bought a 1990 CBR 400RR for $1,200 with 17,000 miles on it. You can get good deals in California if you just look.

how about i start a buisness delivering used bikes to california for 70% of the difference you would have paid.
For example i get a Hurricane w/48,000 miles on it for $800 dollars in missouri, then I ship it back to Cali, when I deliver the bike you pay me $1470 since you would have paid $2900 in cali. all together your still only paying $2270. Hell I'll do it fo 60% then in the end you'll only pay me $2060, your still saving nearly $800. sounds like a win win situation for everybody./images/icons/smile.gif

Okay,I've had about enough of the Price Police. I thought I
could put my bike up for sale without all the negative comments. None of you have seen or ridden the bike. It has had engine work, rings, guides, cam chain and guides and many other things.I am a mechanic and replace things BEFORE they break. And like I said, the price is negotiable.I can keep some of the extras and the price will go down.If you can find a better deal, buy it! Don't hamper my sale with your negativity.
