2002 Factory Rear Cowl

Has anyone seen how the factory 2002 9r rear seat cowl locks into place? I have the 2000 9R and purchased a Targa seat cowl and have been trying to figure out how to get it to lock in place without using the dumb bracket they give you that you need to screw on and off all the time when slapping your rear seat back on. Can anyone post pics of the bracket under the new 2002 seat cowl and the rear storage compartment? Thanks for any info.

all you gotta do is cut a slot in the bottom of the seat plastic where the bracket makes contact. i did it on my 6R and it works great. just pop off the cowl and pop on the seat.

Oops...sorry officer I thought I was going 45. The bug on my shield must have covered the 1.

SCOTT99ZX6R is right. Just leave the cowl bracket attached to your front seat bracket, and cut a square hole into the plastic where the bottom of your seat makes contact with the top of the cowl bracket. It works awsome. I used a dremel® tool with a cut off blade to cut the square hole, then I ground the edges down with a fine stone bit (dremel bit). It looks like it came from the factory.
