Got my 2001 mille last week, was at bike week till yesterday, took my GSXR since it's broken in. Anyway, rode the mille for about 100 miles today. The bike is still restriced, it is very cold natured, I mean even with choke on it doesn't want to crank for about 4-5 tries, then it has a real rough idle. Doesn't seem to even want to pull off from a stop till it gets to about 150degrees F. Even after full warmed up, it is real twitchy at on-off throttle applications. Especially down low rpm, you can give it some gas and it will kinda stall for a sec then all of a sudden go. Even at cruise around 60mph in 6th, give it some gas and then it takes a sec or two to get going. The bike only has 110miles on it, so I'm sure some things will get better, but the fuel inj sure needs some sorting out. I am not sure if when I derestrict it ( just didn't have time this morning before i rode) if it will smooth out the low speed injection...what has been most people's experience. I am sure the aftermarket chips will clean it up.
Thanks again

Syclne01, I think you will feel much better after the derestriction. The bike in the restricted state is very lean. This may contribute to the jerky throttle, also fuel injected systems can be sensetive to throttle action. Cold starting, try bringing the choke back to the top of the horn button. Never had to use the choke all the way open. I have a 2000 so your horn may located in a different position since they changed switch gear. Sixed gear at 60mph is almost lugging it. I rarely see 6th gear because at that speed I'm really blowing it. Good luck, I think you will enjoy it after derestrition.

That's absolutely how my '00 RSV was when new and restricted. It was sluggish to start, etc. some of which I attributed to sub-freezing January weather here in Denver.
After derestricting, it was much better, but after I put on the Gianelli slipon and Arrow eprom, it fires up right now, and 'carburets' cleanly even cold.
World of difference...never stalls at corners, idles perfectly, and pulls strongly and smoothly.
