Sounds like a plan... I bought a new AGM for my Aprilia today. The battery was original and I had my first "event" last November. After I pulled over to wait for my friend,it didn't want to restart and it reset the dash. After all this time, I guess I can't complain about the battery failing.

Thats a good run for sure on an Aprilia battery for sure

It's now 5:50p and the 80% is still flashing. Meter shows 14.53V

I charged up the DRZ to give'er a go last week and to see what power the display was drawing but the battery couldn't hold a charge whatsoever. Up to 14.5V and with the voltmeter attached: I could watch it drop to 13V within 20seconds.

At 8:45pm the green light on the charger went solid indicating FULL. Just before that voltage was at 14.55V and then it dropped to about 13.23V in FLOAT mode.

Spiked, did you're drop after you took it off the charger to 13v? Is that bad? I've always heard that 12.8v is good for 12v batteries. Below 12 and it may have a problem. The Battery Tender manual says if you ever see 9V, the battery is assumed to be done.

You can discharge well below 9v and recover. If you cannot get the battery to charge 9v you likely have a short in one cell.

I checked a few bikes in the garage..13.5 ish on float

I worry about my battery as a lot of my commuting is on surface streets and the revs don't get high enough long enough to do much charging. You could be looking at a similar situation L8R ~

Looks like my battery is now steadied out at 13.13v in float....

I took the bird out for about an hour today and it absolutely rode great. Everything feels straight and solid. It doesn't sound the same with the stock pipes though. boooo....

Think lawn mower at idle and Harley 883 with stock pipes on when at speed.
