1/8th Mile on a bandit 600?

Im thinking about going out to the 1/8th mile strip at barona for shits and giggles to see what I could do.

they charge 30 bucks it sounds like, is that reasonable?

also if I go, what times would I be looking for?

Re: 1/8th Mile on a bandit 600?

seems a little high to me.

Every place I've been is more like 10-15,...maaaaybe $20.

that poor bike doesn't have much get-up-and-go in the lower rpm's. You'd HAVE to slip the clutch well to get it moving quickly, otherwise, it would kind of "bog".

I can only guess to shoot for 8.5 seconds at 85-88mph.

Let me know how close I get!!

I'm really not sure man. I think my slowest time I have recorded (post Katana days) is a 12.25 at 117mph, 1/8 ET was 8.0 at 94.

I'd put you at around 12.8 or 12.9 at 110mph.

Hate to talk smack but..... I've run 11.80 in the quarter on my EX500; before the new 3mm pistons went in!

Do yourself a favor and trade her in for a couple year old gsxr, ninja or yami if you want to race it anymore. It would be money well spent as most bikes don't hold their value as the newest latest and greatest thing seems to ogle all the i gotta have the fastest whatever?! Even though a bike that is 3 years old sells for like $4000 less than a new one and if it hasn't been crashed it's still perfectly good. I have to admit though that you get a : for trying to be different.

Otherwise, enjoy your ride man, keep the rubber side down; most importantly enjoy being free, since some of us can't ride since we're stuck in some darn foreign country and can only ride our mountain bikes!
