how do you like the rush of power with the forward facing airbox? : how about the spot-on f/i? no complaints out of me on any part of the bike.

It's a Yammi, what could you possibly have to complain about.

[/ QUOTE ]Have you ever had them all parked side by side. Sorry Bro, but Honda is no longer the King of refinement and fit and finish. As far as the tranny goes, I've heard owners of every type of sportbike out there bitch about trannys. Exactly what are the reliability issues?

Re: My new R1 is blowing my mind!

Please don't make me look up every post in the last couple of months about all the R1-6 riders having problems with their bikes.....if you'd like I'll pm you with a sample. Good thing is that Yamaha does good warranty work so don't worry. A good friend of mine has an '02 Liquid Silver R1 and I let him ride mine. He came back raving about the transmission and specifically how good it was compared to his R1, which he deemed as clunky and nowhere near as smooth. Not bagging on the bike. If I was going to get one based on sheer looks, it would be the R1. Speed? GSXR 1000.

Poor finish quality??? Are you on Crack? Yamaha has the best fit and finish quality of any of the brands.

Re: My new R1 is blowing my mind!

The fact that I have owned Yamaha's, Honda's and Kawasaki's over the last few years and have compared parts and overall fit of of the bikes. I'm not trying to claim that Yamaha isn't without its problems, but as far as finish quality and IMO Yamaha's is the best in the industry.

Besides I like the clunky transmission, that way I always know that the gear change was successful.
