since when has a 1200cc bike been used in a liter-bike shootout?

The ZX-9 isn't a liter bike and I've seen the Gixxer 750 compared to liter bikes.
The 12R is in the same class as the R1, Gixxer 1K and the 954.

Re: CBR954RR + YZFR1 are equals

I thought the 12R is supposed to be in the same class as the Busa and the 1100xx?

You know... the big bike shootout?

Re: CBR954RR + YZFR1 are equals

ZX-12, Hayabusa and CBR1100xx are GT bikes, Grand Touring. Mainly comfy bikes with tons of power. They would get smoked by the liter bikes in a head to head shootout that involves the racetrack.

Re: CBR954RR + YZFR1 are equals

I think the 12R would be a good match for the liter bikes on or off the track and I would consider the ZZR1200 to be classed with the Busa, XX and FJR1300 .

Re: CBR954RR + YZFR1 are equals

The ZZR12 is classed with the Busa and others, but the ZX-12 weighs about 90 pounds more than the average Liter bike and has 200cc more displacement. How is that in the same category?

Re: CBR954RR + YZFR1 are equals

Maybe it takes 200 cc's to cancel out that 90 lbs to give it the same performance as the others. Same as when they put the Gixxer 750 up against liter bikes in a different shootout.

Re: CBR954RR + YZFR1 are equals

Besides, wasn't the 12R supposed to be Kawasaki's comeback to the Busa after the 11R got spanked by the Busa?

Or was it supposed to be their answer to the 1100xx?

No wait, the 1100xx dominated... then the 11R took over.... then along came the Busa... argh I'm confused again!
