Now am an exclusive member of the yamaha club...

... with the addition of a 2009 R1 to the 2006 R6. Thing is sweet, and the hideous exhaust, fender, and signals are 3 days from history...

Didn't you have a yellow GSXR as well?

had... sold it for a little more than what I owed on it. Since I disputed a credit blemish and had it fixed, my credit is back to normal and I garnered a 4.5% apr on the R1 as opposed to the 21% on the GSXR. Its actually cheaper for me to have the R1. Go figure... I will post pics this weekend after the initial mods are complete

Don't beat NS to the Akra Evo exhaust or that'll express you to the top of his list!

Can't wait to see them. I've still only seen ONE new R1 on the streets. What the hell is up with that? I really like them.

Hooking up the double bubble windscreen, full compliment of sliders, Spiegler lines, Yosh TRC-D 3/4 system, PC V, Evotech Elim kit, front flush mounts, and tail light integrator kit this weekend. I have about 200 miles on it, so by no means have I explored even 1/8th of what it has to offer, but...

-Clutch lets out real soon, and it takes off, took some getting used to, stalled twice!
-Power is extremely smooth and steady, as well as being deceptively fast.
-Sucker is heavy! Soon to be partially mitigated by a 3/4 exhaust system.
-Sucker runs hot! Soon to be partially mitigated by a 3/4 exhaust system.
-Exhaust is fugly! Soon to be completely mitigated by a 3/4 Yoshimura system.
-I think the 190 rear adds "heft" to the maneuverability. I will throw a 180 on.
-Bodywork is EXTREMELY easy to remove... quick release bolts (akin to DZUS) and a multitude of plastic push pins make short work of a usually tedious task (for me)
-Suspension was set up tonight, but haven't had a chance to ride it yet. As usual, I used the Sportrider suggested street setup. No special tools required for the setup, just screw driver, hex keys, and sockets.
-After having the GSXR, I was spoiled with the mirror integrated signals and very clean rear end. The R1 steps back in time with the turn signal stalks.

Didn't the 2009 yellow come with the flames on the body work? Removing that takes away 27.3Hp.

You know, that exhaust doesn't look have bad. Good job. I really do like the R1. For my financial situation...a new bike would mean the Ducati definately goes away but I really enjoy it...when it runs.

yeah I pulled the flames off... not my cup of tea. That exhuast system really reduces the heat you feel on the inside of your right legs, which went from awful to standard. And that thing is loud, it sounds like the mustang cobra I was sitting next to at the light. State Police however are not amused by the color, exhaust, or the bike's inability to do 55 mph
