Re: Rear Wheel BHP for the new 04 R1?

Until everybody puts their bikes on the same dyno and adjusts for atmosphere, HP figures mean ZERO. A bike that makes 130HP on a Mustang True HP dyno will likely pull 145+ on a Dynojet 500, so which figure would you publish/brag about?

BTW, like the new avatar NOTTO :

'05 Tuono Factory (best bike ever)
'02 BMW R1150RT-P (b/c I'm NOT novos ...)
'01 GSXR 600 (track tool)

I couldn't find a crank figure for the '03 6R but Sportrider had 107.5hp and Motorcycle online had 108.3hp. I don't think Kawi would of claimed 130 at the crank.

[/ QUOTE ]

Feb 2003 Motorcyclist has 123 HP for the crank number of the 636.

After seeing this picture I'll never look at the New R1 the same way again :

: : : : :

But as far as how much HP it will pump out... I'll also put it in the mid 150's - Tops :

and the 636 has 125 or 130 at the crank , but hardly gets over 101 at the wheel , all hp numbers are pumped up , look at the 954 , it was a hype and it only makes 929 power

[/ QUOTE ]Honda only claimed it made 4 more hp than a 929 and it did ... Full Arata, Hindle, and Micron piped 954 make 147-150 at the wheel, while my Micron Serpent unmapped 929 makes 142, maybe 145 mapped if im lucky

Re: Rear Wheel BHP for the new 04 R1?

There was a good article link floating around here a while ago that outlined extensive testing with ramair on several bike platforms. It was surprising but it may much more than a 2 or 3 horsepower difference and it was also effective at speeds well below 100 mph.

My favorite part of the circus......elephant crap the size of pumpkins...AMAZING
