Re: Rear Wheel BHP for the new 04 R1?

Like I said, so if the 2001 GSXR1000 was rated at 160hp AT THE CRANK and made mid 140s AT THE REAR WHEEL, it lost 15hp between crank and rear wheel. The '04 R1 has 173hp AT THE CRANK and it loses 15hp between the crank and the rear wheel it will have 158hp AT THE REAR WHEEL. It's gonna have mid 150s, anyone who says 150 or lower is on crack.

I didn't see the 173 number but I'd agree......assuming that it could make 170s without the ram air system figured in it should dyno in the 155 range.

and the 636 has 125 or 130 at the crank , but hardly gets over 101 at the wheel , all hp numbers are pumped up , look at the 954 , it was a hype and it only makes 929 power

I'm going with 155rwhp just a couple more to say gixxers suck @152rwhp. I have read most make high 140s though at the rear wheel Is this true??? I'm talking about gixxer 03 1ks. Fear the gixxer no more, as we will take back the HP crown lol.

Fear the gixxr no more? Your acting a little soon.. Yamaha can say all they want about power. Get them all on the dyno and we'll see who's top dog. Dont forget we still havent seen the #s on the 04 GSXR1K. I have to say the R1 IS the best bike I have seen.. Dont kick the ZX10 out either it may just kill all of them. :

RR98, but the ZX-10 even though I am sure there will be plenty of R&D sourced from the Kawi teams has a larger technological gap to jump then etiher Suzuki or Yamaha. But then agian that could play into their favor in that there will not be such a huge cost in re-tooling assembly lines for the ZX-10.

101 HP? Most test I have seen have been 107-108 RWHP and in a couple Brit mags it has been 110-111 RWHP.

Re: Rear Wheel BHP for the new 04 R1?

I couldn't find a crank figure for the '03 6R but Sportrider had 107.5hp and Motorcycle online had 108.3hp. I don't think Kawi would of claimed 130 at the crank.

Drean on YAMAHAHAHA boy's the statement says capable of! Not will be produceing. Your hp rating will be about the same as a stock GIXXER1K.

[/ QUOTE ] Completely redesigned short-stroke 998cc, DOHC, 20-valve, liquid-cooled, inline 4-cylinder engine now produces 180 horsepower at an amazing 12,500 rpm (with Ram-Air). Got this off the Yamaha website. It looks like it says producing to me. : :
