Aaron Clark (Clarkie) was critically injured in a practice crash Friday at the re-opened Pikes Peak International Raceway. He is currently hospitalized in Colorado Springs, his condition is serious but details are very limited. Up to date info is at http://www.getwellclarkie.com/ which is run by a friend of the family.
Thats tough stuff. I was watching his results in the UTAHSBA at Miller ... I was very impressed with his speed. I plan on doing some racing in that same series in 09 and was looking forward to watching him race. I hope he heals up well.
I can wish only the best for Clarkie. His presence and character far exceed his stature (or any man's for that matter). He is tremendously fast on a bike, and equally so in lending a hand or advice to new racers or old. If you didn't know the people in the paddock, you'd think that Clarkie was just the silly Kiwi, until you see the #1 plate, and the skills he utilizes to achieve that title. It is a real pleasure to have he (and of course Scott and Tedi) out at Miller for the MOM series, and I can say confidently that everyone wishes him a full and speedy recovery and we hope to have him back ASAP for the 09 MOM series.
offtopic, Roadracer 98 we'd love to have you out racing with us!
