At speed ( 10-50mph) the unit amplified my ignition noise so badly that I almost went deaf. One of the handhelds fell apart. Pure crap! zx7r_gtr 07-09-2003, 03:14 AM The group I ride with uses them. Overall they are a good product. If you can find their dent/ding sale or used for promotions deals then they are really worth it. The part I like best is even if you crash with one you have a 3 year 100% warranty on them. We have all types of bikes riding with them from inline 600's to V-twins to liter bikes. They work great on all bikes up to about 100 mph. (not that anyone in our group would know that  ) Probably like any other communicator they do sound more clear when you are wearing ear plugs just to cut out the wind noise. We even have one guy who rides using an MP3 player and he just has it set up so he can hear the music, but we are a little louder than the music when we talk. I have the passenger communicator also and it comes in nice when just you and the person on the back want to talk. You can go to your own channel to talk so the rest of the group can't here you, but you can here the rest of the group still. Other than the speed factor of into triple digits there really haven't been any complaints about them from the group I ride with. Just my 2 cents. tlr85 07-21-2003, 03:23 AM i don't know what brand your using but i bought the chatterbox hjc frs model last year and used it as an intercom with my girlfriend and it worked well. this year i got my 2 friends to buy them as well. when they work its great but it seems everytime we go out someone has a problem bad connection, scratchy sound.......i don't blame the units but i blame the connections are WAY to sensative.....anyone else have this problem ???????? just my take..... /wwwthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif | |
