I am president of a newly formed sportbike club in Little Rock, AR - The 501 Xtremes.

We are a group of riders that are generally older (for the sportbike crowd). We range from early twenties to late forties.

We are of varying experience but rather have one thing in common: we like to have fun but we AREN'T stupid about it.

We have club gatherings on Wednesday nights. We meet at the Flying Saucer in the River District at 9 pm for BS and bench racing/smack talk. Then we'll usually head out and ride for a short bit around town - maybe even drag race for fun.

On the weekends we'll do a loop through Arkansas that's generally 200-400 miles - depending on how frisky we feel.

We encourage safety but that doesn't mean we don't let 'em walk when the road allows it. Don't ride with us if you don't have a helmet and can't keep your self under control when you need to. Don't even talk to me if you are a squid without insurance and a drivers license.

No one will make fun of you if you are slow. No one will make fun of you if you don't ride a wheelie for two miles. We stop at intersections for everyone to catch up and talk no smack to those bringing up the rear. Crashing is not fun by any means and we do NOT encourage anyone to ride above thier abilities by keep up with the guy in front of you. Public stunts are not encouraged (but not censored either, if you are reasonable about it).

I invite all on this board to come out and meet us any Wednesday you choose. Also email me for rides when we get together on Saturdays and Sundays.

Hope to see you.

sounds like you got something good going on there. i would show up, but i have class on wed nights until 10:30 for the time being. i would like to see about a weekend ride though. how many people do you have in the club? is this related in any way to the 501 speed car club? or is that just an area code thing? :) oh, do you have a website yet for the club? thanks for posting... hopefully i'll see you guys soon.

Hey John! I'll try to make it tonight.

Just a little note for you guys who don't know John personally, he's a pretty good rider and a damned good guy. Has nice leathers too! :)

Thanks, Bob. My leathers do make me look like either:

A. Darth Vader (LUUUUUke. I'm your FAAAAAATher!)
B. A German porn star making sheister flicks

Chris, to answer your questions:

No affiliation with another club. Yeah, area code thing.

Since we are a new club we are working on a web site right now.

We have roughly ten members that pay dues. We have two classes of members: Charter members and riders. I'll discuss in more detail Wednesday night.

Bob, hope to see that funky Triumph!

I was impressed with 501 Extremes. That was a terrific run.
Glad Michael talked me into it. Probably have to buy new jungleboots before the next one if I am gonna chase The Man in Black. Did you ever see that movie...People Under the Stairs or Pulp Fiction.......ha ha.

Great riding by all. No wrecks, no tickets, awesome weather and excellent twisties. Count me in for future endeavors.

That was a great ride. Although I'm slow I'll blame it on the bike.......and me, but thats okay. I think I was a little under horsepowered. I need someone with another SV on the ride.

Still trying to build confidence in the corners, but hey with only 3500 miles on my belt I'll chaulk it up to inexperience and wanting to live /images/icons/smile.gif

By my count we had Johnathon(12r), Sherman(12r), Brian(r1), Chris(f4), Jeremy(SL1000), Michael(FZ1), Rob(650S), and myself (Sprint RS). Am I missing anyone?

Jeremy on the Aprilia Falco was another one.

I'll have to say you guys are a good bunch of guys to ride with. I didn't have to worry about anyone riding my back tire in a curve or other stupid moves.

Well, we'll need to keep a leash on Brian. Anyone know where we can get a restrictor plate for that R1? :)

Any of you guys are welcome to ride with us any time.

C'mon out to the Saucer Wednesday night!

2tired, don't worry about being 'slow' - you need to ride at your own pace. Everyone is different. Besides, you won't need to keep bail money holed away somewhere and you'll have a greater chance of keeping your bones and skin intact.

Er, the SL IS the Falco. Duh.

*ahhhhhh* Another beautiful day in paradise. Think I'll go terrorize some cages.

Yeah...that leash.....Arkansas' Finest have it down a the Pulaski County Detention Center. Troop A. Ahhhhhhhh!
John, I thought you were on a 9R...didn't mean to diss ya, if that is what it seemed like. I just couldn't figure out where Will Smith (Mr. MIB) was getting all that power.
Hey 7 N is the best! However, we should plan a route with sum dips for a little TT feel (i.e., front wheel lift as you float). I just got keep that Rossi/Hayden feeling under control when I start the R1 up....because we're not on a track under controlled conditions.

ahh, I'm not too worried. I got time on my hands. The reason I got the SV was for a cheap ride to work, cheap insurance, and a good starter bike so I didn't get myself into trouble, which I already did, but oh well. I figure if I can get to a track school I'd feel a whole lot better in the curves. I'd just like to be able to get some input on how to improve my riding.

Anyway, I really enjoyed myself and you guys are a great bunch. My schedule is kinda full, since I'm working on my Masters plus regular work on top of it, so I don't know when I'll be able to get another ride in. I'll be around though, watching the treads.

I'm getting the pics developed today, and will try and get them posted as soon as possible. Brian and I got a couple of wheelie pics, hope they turned out good. I'm ready to go again, I had such a blast yesterday, we'll have to do it again soon. Anybody have a helmet cam? later, Michael

Nah, I didn't see you thinking I was on a 9 as a dis at all. That's kinda what I hoped for stealthing out my 12. :)

You want Isle of Man [censored]? I got ya covered, big boy. HWY 7 is okay, but its a long drive for a short stretch of road. It has a lot of traffic and law enforcement.

I have routes that are more entertaining (I have a very short attention span) and with light traffic.

But, you better be ready for a 250-300 mile ride.

Take off yer skirts, boys, and put on yer jocks - this is no place for wussies (not necessarily girls)!

Whoo hoo!

Nice pic, Mike.

Hey guys. Thanks for letting me tag along, I had a great time and I would love to ride with all of you again. I'm up for a 300 mile day since I usually ride 300+ miles when I ride alone anyway. Let me know when and Maybe I could meet up with everyone.

Actually...I intended that comment about the 9R for Sherman instead of John. I thought Sherman was on a 9R and did not learn it was a 12R until we all split up for the day.

I got the names mixed up. Anyway, I got the names straightened out. As for, MR. MIB, aka "The Gimp"...I accept your challenge.

Whooooooohoooooooo! Yeah Baby! I'm down for anything, actually. I just love the lean....do you feel me???

The logical side says you will smoke my redlining R1, but I love to tap that back tire of yours Sir John. Lets Get it On!!!

Well...I must say in response to Mike's request for new routes...how about getting those photos scanned of the gang!

It's all right dudes...Mike is my best friend, so I have authority to RAG him.

He has some good shots of everybody. Oh, except me, I was too busy hiding from the Forest Ranger! Then, all of you pass by the Rest Stop honking at me giving away my hiding position...ha ha ha.

So, I was not in any of the group photos. Maybe I will get in the next set of photos if the helicopter is not tracking me. Hee Hee

Well
I have been checking out this forum for a while between my trips around the U.S. I used to be around St. Louis for a while but, now I bounce around all the time...my point is that I might 70% chance be able to make a ride this coming weekend the 5th and 6th. I was going to go back to Vegas this weekend but, my bro's 909Hype and Qqqqqqqman have some other things going on so I am going to try S.E. missouri and Arkansas this weekend. I am head out to Dallas in about 2hours and hopefully will be back in STL to get my bike early Friday to start the weekend journey. I would like to try and ride with you guys down in AR. If you get a chance give me a call later this week, I will PM you my cell, number which is the biggest P.O.S. in the world, plus the kicker I am working with the second biggest P.O.S. company that provides the service which rhymes with Engular/images/icons/mad.gif

P.S. any word on the weather? We have a new celluar market starting up in Nov. Little Rock so I will have to "check" them out once in a while/images/icons/cool.gif
