GregS 07-14-2002, 11:15 AM Well, the bike is still putting (no offense, Verlan) on 1 cylinder and I'm still working on it. The chances that I will fix this bike up, sell it, buy a new bike, and get comfortable enough to take it on the track in 3 weeks is looking really unlikely.
Dave over at Fastrack has given me the option of postponing the track day or transferring to someone. I would rather transfer it than carry this credit. This is the SuperStreet class and the orientation for $250. This is the same thing as signing up directly with Fastrack.
PM me if you could help me out here.
pudding7 07-14-2002, 02:43 PM dude! That really sucks. /images/icons/frown.gif Renting one their bikes is not an option?
I'll ask some people at my work if they're interested.
R1guy777 07-14-2002, 05:16 PM Man, paying 50.oo dlls. for that orientation is a joke. Just tell them that you've done track before, so that they can wave that extra charge.

I'm VERY tight with the guys at Fastrack.... errrrrrr,,,, I know how you feel about the orientation school... But if we could keep any sort of bad mouthing down to a minamum,, that'd be pretty cool /images/icons/wink.gif
I taught a class for them a couple months ago,, and trust me,,, the class is there for a VERY good reason... Some guys definately dont need it,, but some do.. (you'd be amazed).... It is a safety thing, and if you look at in the perspective of a "Newbie" making YOU crash, because he had no business out there, you may look at things differently...
I've been biting my tongue about this,, but I cant anymore..
Hope ya understand... Tim Crawford WSMC #603

R1guy777 07-14-2002, 05:32 PM I totally understand that you guys have very useful and important information to share with everyone that come to the race track, I just think that paying $50.00 for something that is considered "common sense and common knoledge" is such a rip-off. 5 or 10 minutes of: "pass on the outside, pace yourself, blah, blah, blah..." what a joke of orientation. I talked to Jay about this, and I'm still disappointed about that. I was expecting at least 30 minutes of graphics, powerpoint, tips on "how to", everything you learn in a track school summarize in a 30 min. class.
That's my 2 cents man.
Oh! by the way, that was the only thing I did not like about track day at CA speedway. Everything else was great.

GregS 07-14-2002, 05:39 PM Pudding ~ I talked to Dave and at the advice of their lawyers they are selling their fleet right now to limit liability.
For everyone out there if you want a YZF600R that's had the $hit ragged out of it by everyone and their brother -- call Dave at Fastrack Riders. Hey, I read DR -- that makes the engine run stronger, right?/images/icons/smile.gif

pudding7 07-14-2002, 07:11 PM R1guy,
I'm expecting the "graphics, powerpoint, tips on how to," etc., from the orientation. Are you saying I'm going to be disappointed?
Regardless, it's my first time at the track and I welcome the opportunity to glean every bit of knowledge that I can, so I have no problem taking the orientation class. I just hope it's more than just 5 minutes of "don't pass on the inside." /images/icons/crazy.gif
MotoRacer 07-14-2002, 07:17 PM Listen,, im gonna tell the guys at Fastrack that you all are good friends of mine... If you need any extra help the guys will work with ya.. if you haul ass and dont need any instruction they are gonna just go ahead and let ya ride...
My buddys,, teach the class,, I plan on talking to Jeff (Jeff Dixon) and telling him to tak care of you guys...
Soooo, maybe the class will help those of you who take full advantage of it...
*by the way,, Jeff HAULS ASS *

NemesisCBR 07-17-2002, 01:25 AM Wait.. i thought the orientation was more then just 10-30 minutes. Who paid $50?? I paid $75 to my knowledge. $175 for track and $75 for orientation class. I dont mind the orientation class at all but it better be worth my while including reminders of stuff i already know. Reminders can only be good.
